Neuro Linguistic Programming NLP

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. It is an alternative psycho-therapeutic practice that was developed in the 1970’s. The intent of NLP is to restructure our underlying beliefs that create our habits and structure how we perceive ourselves and reality. NLP can get rid of strong feelings such has frustration, hatred, and depression towards ourselves, others, and events just as easily as instilling beliefs of self-confidence, determination, and happiness within ourselves. Neuro-Linguistic Programming works by studying (modeling) how successful people operate on an internal level so that we may then recreate their excellence in ourselves and others. We can model any human skill or behavior once we have learned the beliefs, physiological responses, and internal strategies that led to that skill or belief. Similarly, we can gain access to the unconscious through light trance work and restructure one’s patterns that lead to habitually being stressed, unhappy, and depressed.

One of the ways I define NLP is that: “Neuro Linguistic Programming allows one to get in touch with their conscious or unconscious beliefs, ask that belief what it’s true purpose is, and modify that belief to one of the individuals choosing that will shift their life in their intended way. NLP allows an individual to remove unwanted programs in their mind and body and re-program themselves to connect with positive resources to lead a more full life towards reaching their potential.”

A little of NLP’s history… NLP was originally called The Study of the Structure of Subjective Experience and was created in the 1970’s by John Grinder, Ph.D. and Richard Bandler. John Grinder was an assistant professor in linguistics at UCSC and at the time Richard Bandler was an undergraduate in philosophy and psychology at UCSC who went on to complete his masters in psychology. Then, Bandler was studying Gestalt Therapy and recording and editing recordings of Fritz Pearls (founder of Gestalt Therapy). Bandler and Grinder met and began to model various cognitive behavioral patterns of therapists (Gestalt Therapy, Erickson Hypnosis, etc.) and created the basis of the methodology that became the foundation of NLP. In the 1980’s Richard Bandler also created and trademarked techniques within the fields he calls Design Human Engineering™ and Neuro-hypnotic Repattering™. Neuro-Linguistic Programming became a system of techniques for creating lasting change within an individual by tapping into the workings of the human mind; working with both the conscious and unconscious beliefs. The internal images, voices, and feelings within us are the basis of our thoughts and memories and create how we perceive ourselves and the world. These are our mental maps. They shape our beliefs, attitudes, and expectations of ourselves and life. By studying the subjective experiences of people who are masters in their fields we can model how successful people are masterful and then duplicate their internal programs in others. Through this study and understanding of successful people’s mental maps we find that these same success mastery strategies can be taught to almost anyone. If you can learn to become something, for instance, depressed or have an addiction, then you can unlearn it as well. You can change by choice; and by re-programming your beliefs. This is the purpose of NLP; to become the best you, possible.

Belief Change with NLP

NLP Presuppositions are the central principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Presupposition meaning you assume something to be true and act as if it were, in which case you believe that an NLP Presupposition is true prior to beginning with the NLP exercise or technique. After the session you do not need to continue to believe them, although, after your session you may decide to keep them as a part of your own belief system if it works for you. They are listed below in no certain order.

The NLP Presuppositions are:

• Reality is subjective (people respond to their experiences)
• The Map is not the territory (mental map)
• Behind every behavior is a positive intention (every action has a purpose)
• If you continue doing what you are doing you are likely to continue to get the same results (change makes change)
• You already have all the resources you need
• People work perfectly (people’s results are from their mental maps; people make the best choice for them that they know at the time)
• Choice is better than no choice
• Every experience or behavior has a structure
• Anyone can do anything anyone else in the world can do
• Mind and body are one (you don’t have a thought without a physiological response)
• You can not not communicate (you are always communicating something to someone; only 10%-20% of your communication is verbal)
• The person with the most flexibility has the most influence in any situation (the more options you have the more control over a situation)
• There is no failure – only feedback

Usui Reiju Empowerment

Reiju Empowerments are energetic empowerments that are passed along from a Usui Reiki Master to a receiver. Reiju is a Japanese word that means to give/receive Spirit. It is a Spiritual Gift with the intention that you will receive as much Spiritual energy that is appropriate for you at this time. While the energy may provide healing for you on the mental, emotional, and physical levels it is happening because your energy is being cleared, cleansed, balanced, and raised. As we raise our energy we get lighter and heavier energetic blockages are released and dissolved. Any healing that occurs is a secondary effect of the Spiritual Gift. The purpose is to raise your vibration, tune in with your True Self, and connect with Spirit. You may receive Spiritual Insight or begin to channel healing energy (Reiki). While receiving Reiju one should work with the energy and be aware of themselves. This includes meditating, chanting, using kotodama (sacred sounds), or doing kiko (Qì Gōng/Chi Kong/energy exercises).

I am able to send Reiju Empowerments at a distance if you are not located in my area. Reiju is given on a donation basis. Please do not make a donation until after receiving Reiju as only you will know what you feel the experience was worth to you. You should set aside 30 minutes to sit with the energy. Violet Flame Reiki VFR

In August of 2000 Ivy Moore was meditating and reciting the Quan Yin mantra (Namo Guan Shih Yin Pusa) and the Violet Flame decrees when she began to see 22 symbols and recorded them. About a week later Ivy Moore received another 18 symbols for a total of 40 different symbols. While she was receiving the symbols a large amount of energy was going through her. Ivy Moore called this Violet Flame Reiki (VFR). She split the 40 symbols into 4 sets of 10 and set up 4 levels to VFR to space out the energy when attuning someone to Violet Flame Reiki. Ivy Moore recommends that new students to VFR be at least an Usui Reiki level II practitioner before receiving Violet Flame Reiki since they will already be accustom to working with symbols, which is especially true in Usui Shiki Ryoho style of Usui Reiki, and she recommends that you do not pass on attunements once you reach VFR level IV unless you are a Reiki Master in another style so that you already have experience from being taught how to pass a Reiki attunement.

Usui Reiki Kanji

Reiki is Spirit Energy and the practice of working with Spirit Energy. The intent of this practice is for self-evolution. When we raise our vibration we melt away past aspects of ourselves that we no longer need, including blockages in our mental, emotional, and physical bodies. A healing will occur because we are empowering ourselves to evolve. The more we work with Spirit Energy (Energy from the Universe) the more we raise our vibration, become able to tune in to our True Selves, and connect with Spirit.

Below is a longer version of the Art of Reiki and what is known or theorized today about the history of Reiki; it’s founding; and the change in its teachings over the years. None of this is important but is simply here for educational purposes. The only thing that is important is working with Reiki. Reiki is your only Teacher. You are its Student. Learn from Reiki by working with Reiki directly.

Reiki is a Japanese word that can be translated a few different ways. Rei means Universe energy or Spirit and ki means personal energy. It is commonly translated as “Universal Life Force Energy” but can also be translated as “Enlightenment” because when you join Rei (the Universe’s energy) with Ki (our personal energy) you would evolve towards becoming enlightened. This was the original purpose of working with Reiki – to evolve.

We have always had access to Spiritual Energy (Rei) and combining it with our own personal energy (Ki). When this first started is like asking the question as when the first humans were born on this planet or when Shamanism came into being. However, it is agreed upon that a Japanese man named Mikao Usui re-discovered the ability to connect with what we have come to call Reiki and the Reiki system. The exact date is a mystery as reports differ between the late 1800’s and the early 1920’s but nonetheless Usui-sensei (‘sensei’ meaning ‘teacher’ or ‘the one who comes before’ in Japanese) is the founder of the Spiritual Art that has become Reiki in today’s society.

The term Reiki today describes both an energy and a system for working with that energy. It has been reported that Usui-sensei named his practice Usui do which means “Way of Usui” but what he practiced on others was called Usui teate meaning “Usui hand application”.

It has become clear to me from both working with Reiki directly for a number of years, learning about Reiju Empowerments, and talking with Reiki Masters who have learned from Reiki Masters who both live and travel to Japan and have researched the history more than most Reiki practitioners are aware of in the West that originally, Usui-sensei worked with Reiki as a Spiritual Art to help people evolve. It was through regular Reiju Empowerments, Reiki treatments, energy exercises** (that were reportedly taught in levels I and II of Reiki originally),  kotodama (sacred sounds), and the Reiki precepts, that students would raise their energy.

The healing aspect of working with Reiki was secondary and not the focus. Which makes sense because if you are on a Spiritual Path working with Spiritual Energy from the Universe (Rei), combining it with your own personal energy (Ki), and performing other Spiritual exercises then you will raise your own vibration. As our vibration raises our energy becomes lighter and patterns of beliefs, habits, and blockages in our mental, emotional, and physical layers that no longer serve us will dissolve automatically.

Reiki has a very colorful past. Usui-sensei, being a wise and evolved Spiritual Teacher, seemed to change his teaching style depending on his students and how they best learned. One of Usui-sensei’s last students was a Japanese Naval officer and medical doctor named Dr. Chujiro Hayashi. It is unclear if Dr. Hayashi received his Mastership (level III, also called Shinpiden in Japanese, meaning “The Mystery”) from Usui-sensei or from one of Usui-sensei’s Master students. But it appears that prior to Dr. Hayashi, Usui-sensei did not use any symbols when working with Reiki. Three of Usui-sensei’s last students were Japanese Naval officers, one including Dr. Hayashi, and it seems that the wise Usui-sensei deemed that having symbols for these naval officers to focus on helped them learn to work with Reiki.

I speak of the symbols like this… two people are standing under the stars at night. Person A looks up to the sky and says, ‘do you see that star?’. Person B points up at the star to focus on it. They both see the star but one needs to point – they need a tool – they need a way to focus – they need a symbol… that is just how they learn and there is nothing wrong with that.

It appears that Dr. Hayashi saw the healing possibilities of Reiki and worked with Usui-sensei to create a training manual that incorporated hand positions. As the Indian chakra system had not reached Japan at this time the hand positions, like other forms of energy work in Japan at that time, was based on the Chinese system of meridians. It also appears that Dr. Hayashi had created the “attunement” process which is standard in Westernized Reiki today that initiates a student into Reiki at each of the training levels. Dr. Hayashi also seemed to create the term “Usui Reiki Ryoho” (meaning “Usui Reiki Healing Method”) instead of using either “Usui do” or “Usui teate“.

Around the time of  Usui-sensei’s death a Reiki secret society was created called the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai (translation: “Usui Reiki Healing Method Society“). It is unsure if Usui-sensei himself created this society, which doesn’t sound like something he would do; or if some of his last students, including Dr. Hayashi, created this society to continue the study and teachings of Usui-sensei and Reiki. Either way the society is reported to still exist to this day and the members are not allowed to share anything with the outside world.

Dr. Hayashi trained a woman from Hawaii of Japanese ancestery named Mrs. Hawayo Takata in the 1930’s. It would make sense that Dr. Hayashi, a medical doctor interested in the healing aspect of Reiki who also ran Usui-sensei’s old Reiki “learning school” and turned it into a “healing clinic” would pass along to Takata the healing aspect of Reiki. Mrs. Takata initially went to Dr. Hayashi’s healing clinic to be healed from illness. When the power of Reiki healed her she then learned Dr. Hayashi’s system of Reiki and later became a Reiki Master under Dr. Hayashi.

Mrs. Takata returned to Hawaii and began using Reiki for healing work and teaching Reiki workshops. She called her style of Reiki, Usui Shiki Ryoho (meaning “Usui Style Healing Method“). Mrs. Takata initiated students into Reiki using the “attunement” method she had learned from Dr. Hayashi and incorporated the symbols that Dr. Hayashi had learned. She made the symbols extremely important and sacred. She also charged huge amounts of money for Reiki training.

Mrs. Takata was teaching a Japanese “healing art” during the time of World War II and had created a story that would allow the Art to be passed along to the American public easily. This included that Usui-sensei was a Christian; he had received an honorary Ph.D; he received the Reiki symbols in great balls of light; and it was for healing the mental, emotional, and physical bodies.

It appears that the only aspect of this story that is true is the healing aspect, but that is secondary from the continued work with Reiki, receiving Reiju Empowerments, and doing energy exercises and other Spiritual practices for self-evolution.

Usui-sensei may have had a number of influences in his life when working with Spirit Energy (Reiki). This includes studying Zen and Zen Meditation; being a Shinto Priest; being a Tendai Buddhist; studying Shingon Buddhism; being a Master Martial Artist; being a Master swordsman; being a Kiko (Qì Gōng/Chi Kung) Master; and practicing other healing methods, Spiritual Arts, and meditation practices.

If Usui-sensei was working with Spirit Energy (what we call Reiki) then it’s not the ”hand positions” or the “symbols” that matter but the understanding and awareness of the Spirit Energy that is important. Although Reiki is generally sent to oneself or another via hand application, both in person or at a distance, we can send Reiki through our chakras, eyes, or just by calling in the energy. Hand application, like symbols, are not necessary.

Mikao Usui was born August 15, 1865 and died on March 9, 1926

The New Energies of Saint Germain

The New Energies of Saint Germain was channeled by German Reiki Master Barbara Tronicke from Saint Germain in the summer of 2005. Barbara calls The New Energies of Saint Germain to be similar to a Reiki Master level in terms of the high frequency of energy. However, she says that this is not a new form of Reiki nor an update to any form of Reiki. It is simply the ”New Energy”. Barbara Tronicke was initiated into The New Energies of Saint Germain during meditation from Saint Germain and Sananda*.

There are three different aspects to this empowerment using one single attunement and three symbols. The first aspect is in letting go of the old energy of fears and duality. I am aware and conscious of the interconnectedness of all there is. The second aspect allows the old energies to dissipate and to recognize  I AM oneness with the Angels, God, the Universe, and everyone else. The third aspect is to raise our energy and awareness to the I AM understanding that we don’t need ”tools” or other connections but that everything that is lies within us. This is Oneness.

Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki (SSR)

This page is about the energy healing modality of Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki (SSR), which differs from Sekhem and SKHM (All Love).

Sekhem (pronounced “say kem”) is an Egyptian word meaning “power” or “might“. The word sekhem is also comparable to the word for breath or energy (prana in Sanskrit, qi/chi in Chinese, ki in Japanese). This is an expression of our personal life force.

Seichim (pronounced “say keem”) means “living light energy” and also an Egyptian healing system.

Reiki (pronounced “ray key”) means “Universal Life Force Energy” and also a Japanese healing system.

Both Seichim and Reiki are healing systems that were taught separately. Seichim from Egypt and Reiki from Japan.

Sekhem (energy) is mixed with the Seichim and Reiki energies to create a unified healing system called Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki which is also a new kind of healing system. This healing system and unified healing energies can be shortened to SSR (Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki).

When learning and becoming attuned to Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki you are actually being attuned to three different systems at once. This allows a practitioner to expand their ability to channel healing energy. The energies and original stand alone systems are different in their own ways and no system or energy is better than another. The energies and systems combine nicely to form Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki. A practitioner can tune in to a single energy (only Sekhem or only Reiki for instance) or can activate all three energies simultaneously.

SSR Training, Practitioners, and Master Teacher levels are similar to that of traditional Usui Reiki. However, each level is called a facet. There are seven facets total. Facet I and II are practitioner facets and facet III and above are Master facets. Once you reach facet III you are a SSR Master. Facets IV, V, VI, and VII just expand on your abilities, connect greater with Source, and clear out your energy system more. To be able to teach SSR you must first be a SSR Master (facet III) and be shown how to attune others into facets I, II, and III. When you become a SSR Master IV or above you can then attune a student into any facet below your own level. So a SSR Master facet V can attune anyone to SSR facet IV or below, etc.

Usui Reiki Masters are attuned into SSR facet III automatically.

Usui Reiju Empowerment

Reiju is a Japanese word that means to give/receive Spirit. It is an energetic empowerment that can be passed on from one to another and learned during the Master Training (Shinpiden) level of Usui Reiki (Usui-Do or Usui-Teate) in the Usui Reiki Ryoho style.

Originally, the man who re-discovered Reiki, Mr. Mikao Usui, passed along Reiju Empowerments to those who sought him out for Spiritual teachings. As Usui-sensei’s (sensei means ‘teacher‘) Spiritual Art (now called ‘Reiki‘) was transformed by others after his death, Reiju was lost from the teachings because what reached the West was changed into a primarly Healing Art. Although Reiki can provide powerful healing, originally, Usui-sensei worked with the Reiki energy and passed along Reiju Empowerments to help others raise their vibration and evolve on a Spiritual level. As one raises their vibration it’s only natural for them to shed away energetic blockages of emotional, mental, and physical discomforts. The healing aspect of Reiki and Reiju is simply from our energy evolving and becoming lighter. But the focus is on empowering ourselves to raise our vibration, tune in to our True Self, and connect with Spirit.

Reiju Empowerments have taken on various forms and differ from how Usui-sensei originally passed them along. With the formation of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai (Usui Reiki Healing Method Society) at the time of Usui-sensei’s death, the Reiki Gakkai (Society) kept some of the teachings secret and only taught it to its exclusive members. When Usui-sensei’s Spiritual Art got turned into a primarily Healing Art and passed along, Reiju Empowerments were not included any longer. Although, it is reported that the Reiki Gakkai kept working with Reiju Empowerments.

Reiju Empowerments given within the Reiki Gakkai to its members are not allowed to be taught outside of the Reiki Gakkai. However, one of it’s members, Mr. Hiroshi Doi, came to North America in 1999 to meet with a group of Reiki Masters at the first ever Usui Reiki Ryoho International (URRI) conference and teach his form of Reiju and shed light on some of the history of Mikao Usui and his Spiritual Art.

Chris Marsh, an English Reiki Master and Martial Artist who travels to Japan regularly, reported to have made contact with some of Usui’s original students around 1999 and was taught Usui Reiki and Usui Reiju as Usui-sensei had taught them. He then shared his experience of Reiki and Reiju with others.

The Reiju Empowerment that was taught at the URRI conference from Mr. Hiroshi Doi is Doi Gendai Reiju as it is not what is taught in the Reiki Gakkai nor what Usui-sensei originally passed along. Doi Gendai Reiju Empowerments are similar to bringing in a large amount of Reiki to fill the receiver with a Gift of Spirit. It can enable a non-Reiki initiated practitioner to begin to channel and harness Reiki energy for a short duration of time after receiving the Empowerment as that was most likely the original intention. To bring in as much Spiritual Energy that was appropriate at that time for a receiver so that they could work with the energy through meditation, kotodama (sacred sounds), intention, and kiko (Qì Gōng/Chi Kung/energy exercises).

Symbols are not used in Reiju Empowerments. However, Reiju Empowerments can be used to initiate a student into Reiki and each level instead of the Takata style attunement. Reiju can be sent at a distance.

Frequency Balancing

Frequency Balancing is a full body energy healing modality that was channeled by Master Healer, Judy DiCanio, from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, after receiving a Reconnection (TM). While researching more about the energy bodies and healing work Judy created a school course layout of energy healing courses to teach anybody at any level a full body energy healing modality – Frequency Balancing.

Frequency Balancing aims to “balance, clear, align, restructure and repair the various parts of the energy system.” Both the front and the back of the human energy system is worked on, including the chakras, meridians, prana tubes, axia lines, assemblage point, and merkaba.

Axiatonal Alignment - Universal Mind Lattice

Axiatonal Alignments and Axiatonal Re-Alignments have also been called Whole-Self Attunement, The Reconnection™ as taught by Dr. Eric Pearl , and Full Body Axiatonal Alignment as taught by Judy DiCanio in Frequency Balancing.

The meridians, or acupuncture lines, are in our 4th Dimensional body while the axia or axiatonal lines are in our 5th Dimension body. Think of our axia lines as our superimposed meridians in the 5th Dimension. Our meridians in the 4th Dimension connect with our organs and other parts of our physical body’s circulatory system. That is why acupuncture and acupressure is effective. The energy in our meridians connects to the energy in the rest of our body. When we clear the energy in our meridians and strengthen it then the rest of our body is cleared and strengthened. This is how acupuncture/acupressure works.

Now, our axiatonal circulatory system is in our 5th Dimension and is suppose to connect with our body. These 5th Dimensional axia lines resonate to different Star systems. The axia lines are made up of sound and color. They draw upon the higher energy planes and when fully connected and clear with our physical bodies they enable us to receive a new biological program and evolve.

Full Body Axiatonal Alignments

The axiatonal lines are connected to what is known as the Universal Mind Lattice (also called the Cosmic Lattice, Universal Mind, Living Universe). Energy is everywhere. And the Universe has a grid of energy running it. When we are connected to the Universal Grid we are able to channel more energy for healing, experience Spiritual growth, and download programs from the Universe that will allow us to evolve both on the energetic and physical levels of existence.

It is said that our 5th Dimensional energy body was severed from our 4th Dimensional body. Because of this separation we only have enough energy within us to sustain our life here on Earth and while we can receive healing work and energy from the environment we can not draw upon the higher energies from the Universe or receive programs to connect to our full potential and evolve.

During an Axiatonal Alignment one’s axiatonal lines are being re-drawn and re-connected to ourselves, clearned and cleansed. There seem to be a near unlimited amount of lines that we can connect to so Axiatonal Re-Alignments can be done. Every time you have an alignment your energy is cleared, cleansed, and connected further to the Universal Mind Lattice.
